Therapies
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy looks to assess, diagnose, treat and work on the prevention of a diverse range of health conditions and movement disorders. Physiotherapy helps to repair damage, reduce pain and stiffness, enhance mobility and enhance quality of life. Physiotherapy goes further than health promotion to injury prevention, rehabilitation, acute care, chronic disease management, maintenance of functional mobility, carer and client education and occupational health.
Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy can be used to speed up the recovery of clients that are unable to weight-bear or can only partially weight-bear following surgery or injury, by increasing range of movement and maintaining muscle strength. Hydrotherapy can help to relieve pain, mobilise joints, promote relaxation, develop balance, strengthen muscles, enhance coordination and improve overall fitness.
Remedial Massage Therapy
Remedial Massage Therapy is hands-on treatment to address specific musculoskeletal issues, injuries and pain. It involves the assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia using various techniques to alleviate pain, restore your movement and improve overall well-being. Remedial Massage aims to treat the root cause of the problem rather than just providing temporary relief.
Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals who have reached the highest level of training for prescribing exercise to individuals. This equips Exercise Physiologists with the skills, knowledge and competencies to develop, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for individuals who are dealing with acute, sub-acute or chronic injuries, medical conditions and disabilities. These specific interventions include education on physical activity, support and advice, and lifestyle modifications with a strong focus on achieving behavioural change
Rock Blading/Tape
RockBlades were developed by RockTape, a company you may have heard of as they produce kinesiology tape worn by many athletes. The RockBlades are tools with a variety of different edges and shapes which can be used to scan soft tissues for any areas of alteration in the soft tissue. The tool offers a very different form of tissue mobilisation and can be extremely beneficial in painful areas requiring injury rehabilitation. Our Soft Tissue Sports Therapist Ashleigh has worked with Professional Sports Teams with this technique.
Sports Injury/Sport Massage
There are many different types of sports injuries, and some can be prevented if you take the proper precautions. Managing a sports injury correctly can minimise damage to muscles or joints so you can get back doing what you love. The best way to deal with injuries for a speedy recovery is to get some professional advice from a Physio or Exercise Physiologist.
Acupuncture/Dry Needling
Both forms of treatment aim to provide relief from pain and if you were to see a photo of both techniques it is difficult to identify one from the other. Dry needling practitioners use “trigger points” in your muscle or tissue to help release tightness or muscle spasms. The primary philosophy of acupuncture is, it releases a persons endorphins to help ease pain or discomfort and it can be used for a variety of medical conditions.
Personalised Exercise Programs
We have a digital library FULL of exercises that can be followed on an App with videos and directions, and if you prefer, a printed hand out can be given. Individual exercise programs can be created once you and the practitioner have discussed what type of program is needed e.g. pre or post surgery, gym, hydrotherapy, home exercise programs etc.
